The Perry High School Class of 1973 and the Perry High School Class of 1974 joined forces for a joint class reunion last weekend.
Graduates gathered Friday, July 19 at the downtown Perry block party and met again Saturday night at the Perry Golf and Country Club.
“The reason we combined was a few ’73 grads were talking last summer about not having their 50th, and they asked if they could join us this year,” said a spokesperson for the classes. “It made sense. We were all friends in school, and now it’s a low-numbers situation. It made for a really fun time. It was the best weekend!”
Some 22 members of the Class of 1973’s total of 131 graduates attended the reunion, and 57 out of 146 from the Class of 1974.
Plans are already afoot for a 2026 gathering to celebrate turning the age of 70.
“Same weekend as block party again, I think July 17-18,” said the spokesperson.
