In response to the flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey in the Houston area, PHS students have started a food drive.

The flooding and devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey in Houston and the surrounding areas of Texas has spurred the Perry High School student body into action.

In conjunction with the annual Volunteer Day activities — held this year September 20 — PHS students have organized a Food Drive. All items donated will be presented to the Red Cross of Iowa for disaster relief efforts.

Boxed and canned food is requested, as is bottled water. Other items, including toiletries, will also be collected.

Donations can be made at the Perry High School or Perry Elementary School offices, at the Hotel Pattee, Fareway, Hy-Vee and Shopko. The drive will continue through September 20.
