The Kiwanis Club of Perry recently donated $500 to the Ride the Thin Blue Line Memorial project.

The funds will be used for a planned memorial to fallen officers that will be located along the Raccoon River Valley Bike Trail near the new Dallas County Law Enforcement Center in Adel.

“Perry Kiwanis is thankful for all the men and women who serve to protect our community,” said Kiwanis Club President Jeremy Winter, “and we wanted to show our gratitude for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe.”

Perry Kiwanian Tom Vincent presented a check the Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard at a recent Kiwanis meeting.

Winter said the donation was part of the club’s continuing efforts to serve the people of the community and is just one of many causes the Perry Kiwanis Club has donated to in the past year.
