A Perry man was arrested Friday on a Guthrie County warrant in connection with a November incident in Bayard in which he allegedly assaulted a Bayard woman and injured two of her children.
Alejandro Rios, 22, of 1020 Paul St., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, two counts of child endangerment with bodily injury and one count of child endangerment.
The incident occurred Nov. 29 at a residence in the 200 block of Fourth Avenue in Bayard, where Rios allegedly “bit” one of the minors and assaulted the minor victim’s mother by “pinning her on the couch while striking her,” according to court records.
Rios also allegedly “whipped” a second minor victim “in the face two times” with a shirt, according to court records.
Rios is held in the Guthrie County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 13 in Guthrie County District Court.
Rios was convicted of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness in February in Dallas County District Court. He is awaiting trial in Dallas County District Court in connection with a July incident in which he and another Perry man were arrested on charges of second-degree sexual abuse, first-degree harassment and invasion of privacy after they allegedly raped an Ankeny woman.
