Perry man allegedly assaults juvenile in home Sunday

A Perry man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly assaulting a juvenile in the home.

Ben Aieses Ramirez, 22, of 2665 Summer Meadows Dr., Perry, was charged with assault and public intoxication.

The incident began about 2:15 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 2600 block of Summer Meadows Drive, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the juvenile victim, who told the officers that Ramirez allegedly came home drunk and “pushed the victim, followed him and yanked on his hair,” according to court records.

When the victim attempted to leave the residence on a bicycle, Ramirez allegedly “pushed the victim off of the bicycle and caused him to fall into the grass,” according to court records.

Witnesses “corroborated the victim’s story,” according to court records.

Ramirez was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference July 15 in Dallas County District Court.

Ramirez was convicted of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness in December 2023 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of assault in June 2023 in Dallas County District Court.
