Perry man allegedly assaults three Wednesday night

Jose Santos Ayala Sanchez, 30, of Perry was arrested Wednesday on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, two counts of assaults causing bodily injury or mental illness and four counts of child endangerment.

A Perry man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly assaulting three Perry adults and endangering four Perry children in the course of a domestic dispute.

Jose Santos Ayala Sanchez, 30, of 2801 First Ave., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, two counts of assaults causing bodily injury or mental illness and four counts of child endangerment.

The incident began about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2800 block of First Avenue in Perry, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with one of the victims, who told the officers that Ayala Sanchez allegedly “came up from behind, ripped her shirt off and partially took her pants off,” according to court records in front.

Two witnesses intervened, one of whom was accompanied by four minor children.

Officers observed on one of the intervening victims a laceration of the “back right side” of his head and observed on the other intervening victim a “red mark along his face” and “several red marks on his chest,” according to court records.

Ayala Sanchez is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 14 in Dallas County District Court.

Ayala Sanchez was convicted of public intoxication in 2021 in Polk County District Court.
