A Perry man was arrested Friday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with an incident last week in which he allegedly assaulted a Woodward man and a Perry man after he “pushed his way into the residence,” according to court records.

The incident began about 11:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7 at a residence in the 1700 block of Second Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of an assault.

The officers made contact with the Woodward victim, who told the officers that Schwabland allegedly “pushed his way into the residence” and struck the victim “with a wooden dowel in the back of the head,” according to court records.

The Perry victim was allegedly struck “with a wooden dowel in the face, causing his mouth to bleed,” according to court records.

Four witnesses at the scene confirmed the victims’ accounts, according to court records.

Schwabland was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $30,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 21 in Dallas County District Court.
