A Perry man was arrested early Saturday after allegedly breaking a screen door while drunk in public.

Bryan Jose Quezada Mayorga, 25, of 1405 Otley Ave., Perry, was charged with first-offense public intoxication, fifth-degree criminal mischief and interference with official acts.

The incident began about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 2800 block of First Avenue, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a drunk person pounding on the neighbor’s door.

The arriving officers made contact with Quezada Mayorga, who presented as “slurring his speech” and was “unsteady on his feet” and had “a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person,” according to court records.

A witness told the officers that Quezada Mayorga was seen to “break the front screen door,” damage estimated at $150, according to court records.

Quezada Mayorga repeatedly refused to identify himself, according to court records, and he “refused to submit to a preliminary breath test.”

Quezada Mayorga is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $900 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

  1. They should have gotten right down to it with him. And threatened to shave that gorgeous stache completely off, if he doesn’t play ball!
