A Perry man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted his wife in the course of a domestic dispute.
Domingo Emmanuel Puente del Obre, 39, of 1811 Willia Ave., Perry, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow.
The incident began about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of Willis Avenue, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Puente del Obre allegedly “pinned the victim down on the bed and put his hands around her neck and applied pressure, causing her to have difficulty breathing,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “marks on her neck that were consistent with her being choked,” according to court records.
The victim told the officers that Puente del Obre allegedly “hit” the victim “on the right side of her forehead with a cell phone, causing a large goose egg injury to her forehead,” according to court records.
Puente del Obre was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 10 in Dallas County District Court.
