
A Perry man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly assaulted a Perry woman in front of her children.
Domonick Matthew Jerome Cooley, 36, of 2023 Fourth St., Perry, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault.
The incident began about 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Fourth Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that in the course of a domestic dispute Cooley allegedly “grabbed her by the shirt and threw her to the ground,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “marks on her neck from the shirt and also marks on her back,” according to court records.
Two juvenile witnesses confirmed that the victim “was thrown to the ground,” according to court records.
Colley is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 17 in Dallas County District Court.
