A Perry man was arrested Thursday after allegedly holding a woman at gunpoint and forcing her to go to his mother’s.
Toh Toe, 28, of 2801 First Ave., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-use or display of weapon, going armed with intent and false imprisonment.
The incident began about 3 a.m. Thursday in the 2800 block of First Avenue, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded.
According to court records, Toe allegedly “admitted to taking possession of a loaded .22 long rifle,” and he “approached” the female victim.
Toe told the officers that he “tried to scare her,” and he said to the victim, “I am going to kill you,” and “I don’t want to live anymore, and you can kill me,” according to court records.
The victim told the officers that Toe allegedly “pointed the gun at her person.”
Toe allegedly “admitted to forcing her by telling her they were going to go to Des Moines to his mother’s house, while holding the rifle,” according to court records.
Toe is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
