Brandon Lee McCracken, 27, of Perry was arrested Thursday on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment.

A Perry man was arrested Thursday night after a domestic dispute involving his ex-girlfriend and their infant son.

Brandon Lee McCracken, 27, of 1624 Willis Ave., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment.

The incident began about 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Willis Avenue, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of assault.

The victim told the officers that McCracken was “holding their 4-month-old child” when he “began to scream at” the victim. When the victim asked McCracken “to hand her her son,” McCracken allegedly “reached out with his hand, grabbing the female’s sweatshirt neckline” and “causing bodily injury (scratch marks) to her neck area,” according to court records.

McCracken then allegedly “pulled the female in close to his person” and “screamed at her while still holding the 4-month-old” and “proceeded to shove her, striking her right shoulder,” according to court records.

McCracken is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 18 in Dallas County District Court.
