Jesse Dean Siglin, 36, of Perry was arrested Thursday on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and second-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana.

A Perry man was arrested on assault and drug charges Thursday after an argument with his girlfriend allegedly turned physical.

Jesse Dean Siglin, 36, of 308 Lucinda St., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and second-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana.

The incident began about 5:15 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of Graceland Avenue, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The victim told the officers that during the course of an argument, Siglin “proceeded to punch her with a closed fist twice in the top of her head,” according to court records.

Officers observed on the victim “a red mark on the top, left side of her head,” according to court records.

The officers made contact with Siglin, told him “that he was going to be placed under arrest for domestic abuse assault” and located “a small baggy of green leafy substance” on his person, according to court records.

The 3.4 grams of green leafy substance field tested positive for marijuana.

A further search disclosed “a small, clear, plastic baggy with a crystalline substance” and two glass pipesĀ “used to smoke methamphetamine,” according to court records.

The crystalline substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Siglin is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $3,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 11 in Dallas County District Court.

Siglin was convicted of first-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana in January in Dallas County District Court.
