Cristian Rodriguez, 31, of Perry was arrested Wednesday on charges of first-degree harassment, child endangerment and fifth-degree criminal mischief.

A Perry man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening to kill a Perry woman in front of their child.

Cristian Rodriguez, 31, of 303 Eighth St., Perry, was charged with first-degree harassment, child endangerment and fifth-degree criminal mischief.

The incident began about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 300 block of Eighth Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Rodriguez was intoxicated and allegedly told her that “he was going to kill her,” and then “he appeared to go to the kitchen towards the knives,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that a 7-year-old child was a witness to the incident, according to court records.

While awaiting booking at the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave., Rodriguez allegedly “began hitting the wall that he was next to, causing a hole equaling approximately $150 in damages,” according to court records.

Rodrigues is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 13 in Dallas County District Court.

Rodriguez was arrested in Perry in October on charges of carrying weapons while intoxicated and interference with official acts after allegedly “waving around a firearm” while drunk. The case is pending in Dallas County District Court.
