April 20, 2018

  • A 911 caller said “her son had grabbed her phone,” but now “everything was fine.” An officer was advised.
  • A caller reported “a man hole that was uncovered” and “a Smokey the Bear head that was behind the elementary” school. An officer responded and found neither an open man hole nor a costume head.
  • A caller said “he was trying to tow a vehicle that was on his property, and his neighbor was not allowing him to do so.” An officer responded.
  • Brando Burgos, 18, 1608 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. “and dropped off a bullet that she had found next to her car at” a local retail store “about a week ago.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “that her brother was stuck on the roof and needed help getting down.” An officer responded and recommended “that the fire chief be contacted to see if his department could help.” The caller called again and said “that her brother has gotten off the roof.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said “he noticed a bunch of kids that were in the back of a shed next to his house, and he was not sure what they were up to.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there were two girls that were hanging out by the dumpster.” The caller said he “told them to leave due to it not being safe,” and “they gave him attitude.” An officer responded.
  • A 911 caller reported “threats he is receiving from his wife.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone “has been fostering her dog,” and “she wants to go pick the dog up but is concerned” the fosterer “won’t give her the dog.” The caller asked whether an officer could stand by during the dog transfer. An officer responded, and the fosterer “refused to give the dog back.” The officer advised the caller “to take him to small claims court.”
  • A caller reported “two people arguing.” Officers responded and found the caller “was having an argument with his sister’s boyfriend,” who “left the area before officers arrived on scene.”

April 21, 2018

  • A caller said three dogs were running at large. An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her ex-boyfriend” came to her residence “and was taking her belongings.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a small child without an adult around in the area of the Dallas County Hospital.” An officer responded and “learned the child and father had just been reunited.”
  • Israel Atilio Magana Aguirre of 1421 Fifth St. in Perry was issued a citation for first-offense nuisance burning.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he believes a couple of people are living in a grain bin across the street from his residence.” An officer responded and made contact with the people, who “are currently homeless.” They said they “had been staying in the grain bin for two days” but “will be going to Jefferson on Monday.”
  • A 911 caller said “she had punished her 16-year-old son by taking a game from him, and he was wanting the game back.” An officer responded and told the youth “his mother is doing the right thing by taking the system due to his poor grades.” The officer “advised him he needs to respect his mother’s decision and improve his grades.”
  • Yoana Arreola Adams, 27, 1417 Highview Dr., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault.
  • A caller reported “a loud motorcycle that keeps driving around the block.” An offier responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller said he caught a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.

April 22, 2018

  • A caller said someone wrote “a threatening message on her windows.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said he caught a dog running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said she needed “assistance from an officer to retrieve property from her residence.” An officer responded and “stood by while she took belongings.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a sweater and a set of keys he said he found. An officer responded and “logged the items into evidence.”
  • A caller said “he had three mowers strapped down in his truck,” and “one of them was stolen overnight.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said she lost a bag containing personal items.
  • A caller asked to speak with an officer about “potential child neglect by her ex who lives in Des Moines.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “while at a women’s conference on April 19 and 20, her wallet and checkbook were stolen from her purse.” An officer responded.

April 23, 2018

  • A caller said someone “was not right and was unwell.” An officer responded “and learned that a random female wearing a green shirt and riding a bike” told the caller someone “had been beaten up,” but the person “was fine, and there was no evidence that led officers to believe she was physically harmed.” No one knew “who the female on the bike was.”
  • A driver was issued citations for no insurance, no driver’s license and no child-restraint devices.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
