August 19, 2018

  • A caller said someone “came into her apartment at some point in the night and stole her keys.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “he is a cab driver, and the person he dropped off is refusing to pay” the $90 owed. An officer responded.
  • A caller “requested an officer respond to look at a disturbing picture that was posted on the bulletin board near the bathroom” and “was put there in the last 45 minutes.” An officer responded, “took the photo and looked at some video.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said a vehilce “has been parked in front of his house for two weeks,” and “the city will not pick up his trash if they are blocking the trash can.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “someone took the stairs.” An officer responded, and the “stairs were put back. All okay.”
  • A caller said “her child’s father has a four-hour visitation,” but “she said he doesn’t have a driver’s license.” An officer responded, confirmed that a “valid driver was driving,” and the “child went for visitation.”
  • A caller said “he locked himself out of his apartment.” The caller called again and said “the landlord came over with a key.”
  • A caller reported a parked vehicle “with an infant locked inside.” An officer responded but “was unable to locate the vehicle.”
  • A caller said someone known to her was in a vehicle “in front of her,” and “he slammed on his brakes at the light then backed into her vehicle.” The caller said “she is afraid of” the person. An officer responded and started an investigation.

August 20, 2018

  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with “ammunition and requested to speak with an officer.” An officer responded, and “one round of .22 was taken and disposed of.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “complained of speeders.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there is a white light flashing on his Boston Scientific monitor.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “his 17-year-old son lost his wallet on Friday.”
  • A caller requested an officer respond to assist with “the male they were dealing with today.” Officers responded.
  • A caller reported “a male riding a mobility scooter on Iowa Highway 141.” An officer responded but did not find the mobility scooter.
  • A caller said “he believes someone broke in at night or in the day” because “he came home and his kitchen is destroyed, possibly from a leaky roof above the ceiling in the kitchen.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “someone hacked into her Facebook and somehow got a hold of her cell phone number as well, and they are now threatening her.” An officer responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “conducted a traffic stop,” and a “license plate was recovered and placed into evidence.”
  • A caller said “they needed help with a patient.” Officers responded.
  • A caller from the Perry Ministerial Association said “there are two people who were given a room to stay tonight,” and the caller requested an officer respond “to verify if it was them.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone “was making inappropriate comments to a worker and requested he not be allowed on the property.” An officer responded and “served him with a no-trespass.”
  • A caller said “there was a bat in their house.” An officer responded, “found the bat, took the bat away from the home and released the bat.”

August 21, 2018

  • A caller reported “a possible drunk male walking around.” An officer responded and made contact with the male, who “did not show signs of being intoxicated.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
