- A caller said “she caught a raccoon in a trap.” An officer “responded and took the raccoon out of the city limits,” and the “trap was returned.”
- A caller said her mother received a call from someone claiming “that her son was in jail and needed to post bond.” The caller said her mother “hung up and called and made sure the son was okay, and he was.” The caller said she “wanted officers aware of this situation.” An officer was advised.
- A caller “reported that his truck was stolen again.” The caller “said yesterday it was stolen, processed and returned to him. He took it to work this morning, and now it is gone.” An officer responded, and the “stolen vehicle was entered into the Iowa/NCIC.”
- A caller from a local retail store said the store received “a bad check.” An officer responded.
- A caller “reported about five large hens in her backyard.” The caller said “she has had them in her yard before and believes the owner lives on Estella but unknown exactly where.” An officer responded, “located the chickens” and attempted to make contact with their owner.
- A caller “requested the police department set up a court date with her ex.” An officer responded and explained that “the police department could not just set up a ‘court date’ for her.”
- A caller said vehicles parked at a local retail store “were so close to the side of the road that she has a difficult time seeing past them when she needs to enter the roadway.” An officer responded and “observed the vehicles were too close to the curb” and “blocking the view of vehicles coming from the east.” The Perry Compliance Officer was notified.
- A caller said “there was a chicken in the Perry Mercy Clinic parking lot.” An officer responded and returned the chicken to its coop.
- A caller said “he was out hunting” outside the city limits if Perry and discovered a pickup in the timber that proved to be a stolen vehicle. An officer and a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff responded, and the vehicle was processed and photographed.
- A caller reported “there is someone using a laser pointer and flashing it through people’s windshields as they’re driving.” An officer responded but did not find the source of the laser.
- A caller said “he heard a knock from inside his apartment” but “could not find anyone and advised he has not been drinking.” An officer responded and “advised him to ignore the knocking.”
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
