  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital “requested an officer respond to assist with a mental patient who is trying to leave.” The caller said “there is a committal in place.” officers responded.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department conducted a funeral escort.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked to speak with an officer “about issues with his daughter, who lives in Des Moines with her mother.” The man said his daughter “was assaulted at East High School,” and he “does not feel that mom is doing anything for her daughter.” An officer responded and advised the man “to seek an attorney to possibly get custody over her.”
  • A caller said she was “concerned about a strong odor coming from the upstairs neighbors.” The caller said she “believes the smell is marijuana based on what a friend told her.” An officer responded but “was not able to smell marijuana.”
  • A caller said she “is locked out of her vehicle.” The caller said she called a local tow service “but cannot afford it.” The caller was told that “officers can only help if it is an emergency.” The caller “said she would try a few other options.”
  • Ronald Dave Sexton, 33, 1925 Evelyn St., Perry, was arrested on a Polk County warrant on a charge of failure to appear regarding child support.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a debit card that he said he found in an ATM at a local bank. An officer responded and made contact with the card’s owner, who “said he would come to the police department and pick the card up.”
  • A caller said someone “has been writing nasty facebook statues about her and contacting her coworkers.” The caller said the harasser “has a no-contact order placed on her.” An officer responded and determined “there wasn;t a no-contact order on file.” The officer explained to the caller that the other party “could post whatever she wanted on Facebook and say whatever she wanted to her coworkers. She was advised that is not harassment.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
