February 14, 2018

  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and made contact with the dog but was “unable to catch it.”
  • A caller reported an erratic driver. An officer responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller reported “seeing a white construction truck strike a dog.” The caller said the dog “rolled quite a bit,” and she “helped get the dog to the side of the street.” An officer responded and “located the dog. At the same time the owner pulled up and advised they will take it to the vet.”
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “was flagged down” by someone who reported “there was someone acting out” in a local business. The officer responded to the business and found “they took care of it, and the male has left.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said his “landlord” just “sent him a message saying she went through the mailbox, and he was tired of it.” An officer responded and made contact with the landlord, who said “she had just simply gone to see if something was mailed to her to that address,” and “she did not intentionally go through it.”
  • A caller reported someone “trying to reach out to him through a third-party person on Facebook.” An officer responded.
  • A 14-year-old female from Perry was arrested on charges of simple assault and disorderly contact.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was “flagged” down by several people who reported “a black calf being on the loose.” The officer responded and found the “owners arrived on scene and caught the calf.”

February 15, 2018

  • Ramiro Rodriguez of unknown age and residence was issued a citation for driving without insurance and driving without a valid driver’s license.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
