Perry Police Report Feb. 28 – March 8, part one

  • A caller said her 5-year-old child fainted, awoke and began vomiting. An officer responded along with the Perry First Responders and the Dallas County Sheriff’s office.
  • A caller reported “loud music coming from a vehicle.” The caller said “this happens often at different times of the day.” An officer responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller said her dog was lost.
  • A caller said “a male and female had left a lot of paper on the computer cube” and the “female had kicked a door.” The caller said she “believed it is vandalism” and “wanted to press charges.” An officer responded and “confirmed no damage was done. The kids were being rude and loud,” and “they were kicked out for their behavior.”
  • A caller reported a “raccoon with an injured leg.” An officer responded but did not find the injured animal.
  • A caller reported “a small child running around unattended.” An officer responded and learned “a parent had arrived and picked the child up.”
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department located two juveniles and “served them with a three-month suspension notice from the library.”
  • A caller said he caught “a small Yorkie” running at large. The animal “matched the description of a Yorkie reported missing yesterday.” An officer responded and made contact with the owner of the missing Yorkie, and the “dog and owner were reunited.”
  • A caller reported “a raccoon walking southbound from the area of his residence” that “appears to have an injured leg.” An officer responded but did not find the injured animal.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a verbal argument between a male and a female.
  • A caller “said she believes her son may be smoking marijuana.” An officer responded, “found a marijuana pipe,” “took possession of the suspected drug paraphernalia and logged it into evidence.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and located the animal, but the “dog would not let” the officer “get close to it.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and reported “harassing phone calls. An officer responded and advised the man “t block the numbers.”
  • A caller said “a customer attempted to return a box of Varmint Express 22-250 rifle shells.” The caller said “the store has a policy of no returns on ammo.” The caller was “advised to bring the ammo to the police department.”
  • A caller said “people were trying to break into his apartment.” The caller said “someone was trying to climb in on the balcony,” and “someone was attempting to open the door.” Officers responded but found no one breaking into the residence. The caller called four more times over the next few hours with the same claims. Officers repeatedly responded but found no one.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
