March 23, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was contacted by someone “regarding his father possibly falling back into old habits (drugs).” The officer responded.
  • A caller reported her vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run accident. An officer responded.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department taught a DARE class at the Perry Elementary School.
  • A caller from a local bank reported “a possible skimmer on the gas pump at Kum and Go.” An officer responded, located the skimmer and started an investigation.
  • A caller said he saw “an elderly man leaning against a large rock” near “the old Rosene building.” An officer responded but did not find an elderly man.
  • A 15-year-old female from Perry was arrested on charges of Possession of marijuana and interference with official acts.
  • A 15-year-old female from Perry was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A caller said her neighbors were “arguing loudly.” Officers responded and found the neighbor “having an argument” with someone over the telephone. The officers “asked her to lower the volume of her voice as to not disturb the other residents.”
  • Numerous calls were received about an erratic driver. The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  • Cory Dean Noring, 29, 2919 Kading Road, Perry, was issued a citation for failure to provide proof of insurance at the time of a crash.
  • A caller said “someone left a debit card in the ATM” at a local bank. An officer responded, and “logged the card into evidence.”
  • Ramiro Guzman, 18, 1724 W. Third St., Perry, was arrested on charges of first-offense OWI-drug related, violation of instruction permit and failure to maintain control.

March 24, 2018

  • Johnnie Adam Jackson, 55, 409 N. Main St., Linden, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with official acts and disorderly conduct.
  • Jacob Anthony Quijas, 18, 415 Third St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-causing bodily injury or mental illness.
  • A caller said someone “was making threats on Snapchat about wanting to assault her due to her brother’s arrest from last night and wanted to know what she is able to do about it.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “her blue wallet was stolen from her unlocked vehicle sometime overnight.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “she is being harassed by” someone who is “following her around.” An officer responded and “advised she needed to get a no-contact order” and explained “how to go about obtaining one.”
  • A caller said “her aunt” was “posting photos and saying things about her on Facebook,” including “saying she is a thief.” An officer responded and said the aunt’s behavior “doesn’t rise to a criminal issue.”
  • A caller said “his garage was broken into” and “ransacked,” and he “believes some tools are missing.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
