  • A caller said he “received a call from someone who wanted to send him money to help his family.” The caller said he also received text messages from the same source. An officer responded, examined the text messages and told the caller “it is a scam and to not give the person any money or any personal information.”
  • Brando Burgos, 19, 1608 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on charges of second-degree theft and eluding and on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of fighting or violent behavior and public intoxication.
  • A caller said “she received a text from her son stating that his girlfriend was trying to stab him.” The caller said the son “was barricaded in a bedroom and that his girlfriend had been known to stab him in the past.” An officer responded, made contact with the son and girlfriend and “learned they got into an argument,” but “nothing physical occurred today.” One of the parties “left the apartment for the day.”
  • A “complainant” entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked to speak with an officer. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported a suspicious vehicle. The caller “said the driver was a female who kept circling and appeared to be acting strange.” The caller said he “asked the driver what she was doing,” and the driver “grinned at him and continued driving” and later “parked near a garage with no door.” Officers responded and made contact with the female driver, who said “she was approached by a male and felt he was the suspicious one.” The officers judged “all okay.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
