November 24, 2016

  • A caller said “several times today she has heard a loud noise” and “just heard it again,” and “it sounded like a sonic boom.” The caller said “it shook her house.” An officer responded but “was not able to locate any problems.”
  •  A caller said his eldest daughter “was offered drugs a couple of days ago.” An officer responded and advised the caller to “make a full report to the Iowa Department of Human Services.”

November 25, 2016

  • Karla Laws Schuiteman, 49, 1223 Sixth St., Perry, was arrested on charges of driving while suspended and possession of marijuana.
  • A caller said she “found a marijuana cigarette on the floor,” and “she doesn’t know whom it belongs to.” An officer responded, received the found item and “secured it into evidence control.”
  • Chelsey Ann Telleen, 31, 1917 Evelyn St., Perry, was arrested on charges of fifth-degree theft, second-offense OWI and interference with official acts.
  • A caller said she “heard a really loud noise” and found “someone had gone in her balcony and taken a bicycle.” An officer responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department discovered “the door to the shed at the girls’ softball fields has been kicked in.” Investigation determined that “nothing appeared to be missing,” and “the last time anyone was in the shed was during the month of June.”
  • A caller said “two nights in a row someone cut the cord to his outdoor Christmas lights.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone “accidentally got locked out of her apartment.” An officer responded. Investigation revealed the “key was actually in her unlocked vehicle on her car key ring.”

November 26, 2016

  • Jeffery Joseph Cechovic of 923 Fifth St. in Perry was issued a citation for first-offense barking dog.
  • A 14-year-old male from Perry and a 15-year-old female from Perry were issued citations for first-offense curfew violations.
  • A caller said her dog was missing. The caller later caught her dog.

November 27, 2016

  • A caller reported “a possible underage party.” Officers responded and “made contact with a group of juveniles.” Two boys “ran out the back of the residence.” Tests revealed the other children were not intoxicated.
  • A caller said “her ex-boyfriend” “stole her food stamp card and is refusing to give it back.” The caller said “they did live together, but now she is living with her mother.” An officer responded and made contact with the caller, the ex-boyfriend and the mother and explained that “this is all a civil issue” and advised them “the Iowa Department of Human Services regarding the card.”
  • A caller said he “has been having an ongoing problem with a neighbor constantly parking in his yard.” The caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department would speak with the neighbor “as he has tried with no avail.” An officer responded and made contact with the neighbor, who “agreed to move the vehicle.”

November 28, 2016

  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and said while he was “emptying out the garbage at” a local business, “he was approached by someone on a bike who had pink hair.” The man said the pink-haired person “told him he needed to get out of there.” An officer responded but did not find the pink-haired bicyclist.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
