  • A caller said “he cashed a check” at a local financial-services business “and then took the cash to” another local financial-services business “to deposit.” The second business later “called his wife and said there was a bogus $100 bill” in the deposit. An officer responded and learned the second business “will be sending the bill to Secret Service.”
  • A caller said two dogs were running at large. An officers responded but did not find the dogs.
  • A caller from a local retail store reported a gas drive off. An officer responded.
  • Jennifer Marie Ashby, 46, 108 E. Central Ave., #66, Jefferson, was arrested on charges of fifth-degree theft, first-offense OWI and interference with official acts.
  • Jody Lyn Shad, 43, 108 E. Central Ave., #66, Jefferson, was arrested on charges of third-degree theft.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he was talking to women on WhatsApp, and they told him to send him money or they would hurt him.” The man said he “wired them $300.” An officer responded, asked the man “to fill out a witness statement” and advised him “to not contact those people anymore. Dispatch advised him how to block the numbers” and directed him “to not send strangers on the internet money or any other information. He was told to call the emergency line if he notices anything suspicious at his residence since he gave these strangers his home address.”
  • A caller said “she wanted her ex” “out of her residence” because “he was cheating all day while she was at work, and she did not want him there anymore.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
