  • A bus driver for the Perry Community School District reported a school bus violation. An officer responded.
  • A caller “reported people fighting in the neighbor apartment.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said his dog was lost. The caller called again and said his dog was found.
  • A caller “requested a welfare check” on someone whom “she and others have been trying to make contact with.” An officer responded and made contact with the person, who “was fine, just didn’t hear anyone at the door.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “there is a piece of equipment that is blocking her view when getting out of her drive.” An officer responded and explained “there wasn’t anything to be done at this time since the road is closed, and they are making repairs.”
  • A caller said “her dog cornered and attacked a cat,” and “the cat is not doing well.” An officer responded.
  • A manager from a local retail store called and said “they would like to file a report and get a no-trespass notice on” someone. An officer responded and served a no-trespass notice.
  • A caller said “his ex allowed his daughter to move in with him and now is going back on her word.” The caller said the juvenile “has already been enrolled in school, and they do have a custody agreement in place.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “he bought a vehicle with the doors locked and wanted to know if an officer could open them for him.” An officer responded and referred the caller to a local tow service.
  • A caller said “there’s a dead deer on Iowa Highway 141 by the Raccoon River bridge,” and the caller “wants to know if he can salvage it for parts.” An officer responded and told the caller “he needed to get tags for it, and any other questions should be referred to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.”
  • A 14-year-old male from Perry was arrested on a charge of minor in possession of alcohol.
  • Riley Scott Olsen, 20, 415 Third St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense underage possession of alcohol.
  • Bryan Jose, Quezeda-Mayorga, 19, 1405 Otley Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense underage possession of alcohol.
  • Gustavo Marcos Garcia, 18, was arrested on a charge of first-offense underage possession of alcohol.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
