  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department discovered a broken water main. The Perry Water Works was alerted.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital “advised of a dog bite in the emergency room.” An officer responded and learned the “dog is the family pet and has been vaccinated for rabies.”
  • A caller reported the presence of a man “who they believed had shoplifted from there this week.” An officer responded, but the man was gone.
  • A caller “reported a tire and a wheel in the middle of the road.” An officer responded but did not find the item in the roadway.
  • A caller said “someone dumped a concrete slab in his yard.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said the neighbor’s dogs “are continually barking.” An officer responded and attempted to make contact with the dogs’ owner but “was unable to get to the door due to seven dogs in the yard.”
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was asked by a citizen to “talk to his son.” The officer responded and “spoke with his 11-year-old son, but his son was less than receptive of what the consequences of his actions would be.”
  • Takyla Ruth Pittman, 29, of no fixed abode was arrested on a Greene County warrant on two parole violations.
  • Two callers reported “a person wearing dark clothing, walking eastbound on Iowa Highway 141.” An officer responded and made contact with a man in dark clothing who said “he got into a verbal with his wife.” The man “said there is a no-contact between them,” and “he advised her they should not be together, so she kicked him out of the car, and he decided to walk.” The officer sent the man on his way.
  • Mariela Jaimes Yanes of 2902 Iowa St., #4, Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense loud music.
  • A caller said “she thinks she heard nine gunshots coming from the area northeast of her residence.” Officers responded and determined the gun fire “was out of the city limits.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
