September 29, 2018

  • A caller said his dog was lost.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “there was an order for child visitation,” and “he is to meet here at the police station every Saturday.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said his cat was lost.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department conducted a funeral escort.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department conducted a funeral escort.
  • A caller “reported a possible water main break.” The Perry Water Works was notified.
  • A caller reported debris in the roadway. An officer responded but did not find any debris.
  • A caller reported a vehicle “parked in front of a fire hydrant.” An officer responded, and the vehicle owner moved the vehicle.
  • A caller said “her 24-year-old son was being aggressive toward her.” An officer responded and made contact with the son.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department stood by at the Dallas County Hospital “while Central Iowa Detention picked up a juvenile.”
  • A caller “said she was assaulted by her mother,” and “her glasses were broken during the assault.” Officers responded and learned “there was an altercation over a bottle of perfume.”
  • A 17-year-old male from Perry was arrested on two counts of driving while suspended.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department encountered someone who said “he was jumped by someone.”
  • Nemesio A. Tlaseca of 1324 Evelyn St., Perry, was issued a citation for irst-offense noise violation.

September 30, 2018

  • A 17-year-old female from Oelwein was arrested on charge of providing false identification information and on a Fayette County warrant for a juvenile detention order. The juvenile was also issued a citation for second-offense curfew violation.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said someone “is threatening to kill him over some tools.” An officer responded and asked the man “to fill out a witness statement.” The man became “upset” when he learned his would-be killer “was not going to be arrested right away and walked out.”
  • A caller said he caught a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller from a local retail store said “they may have had a shoplifter this morning.” The caller “requested an officer respond and look at the video with her.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone was “at his house, acting erratically.” The caller said a cell phone was broken during an argument. The caller said the person was “high on meth and intoxicated.” Officers responded and found the erratic actor “had already left.”
  • A caller reported “someone spray painting the sidewalk by the entrance of the high school.” An officer responded.

October 1, 2018

  • A caller said a suspicious male was “Looking into the basement window of her neighbor’s house.” The caller said the property “recently sold , but the real estate agent said no one should be there at this time.” An officer responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was approached by a resident who caught a dog running at large. The officer transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller asked “about an incident that happened with her son at school a few days ago.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “requested to speak with an officer about an ongoing harassment.” The woman said “her estranged husband keeps sending her messages about her parenting.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said he received six phone calls from someone “saying his Social Security number has been suspended.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone “stole his Greco paint sprayer from his back yard,” a $700 value. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported an erratic driver. An officer responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller said “he is home alone with his broither, and the fire alarm is going off.” The dispatcher “advised him to take his brother and exit the building.” Officers responded, and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department was paged.
  • A caller said his son’s vehicle was damaged. An officer responded.
  • Sheldon Gene Boswell, 21, 116 W. First St., Bouton, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of first-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana.
  • A caller said her dog was lost. The caller called again and said her dog was found.

October 2, 2018

  • A caller said she caught a dog running at large. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a junk vehicle parked” in the neighborhood. An officer responded and “red tagged the car after trying to make contact with the owner.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “asked about a title transfer on her daughter’s vehicle.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said something “happened to her son’s friend” when the friend parked a vehicle. An unknown person “started threatening the girl and cussing her out.” An officer responded.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department assisted a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff with an arrest “by having the vehicle towed.”

October 3, 2018

  • A caller said “she can hear an alarm going off.” Officers responded and made contact with a women who said “the camper belonged to her sister, who isn’t awake and won’t answer the phone.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
