- A caller asked to speak with an officer about a “dispute he’s had with his neighbor” regarding a “aproperty dispute.” An officer responded.
- A caller said “someone has written ‘Nova’ at the lift station.” An officer responded and found “the word ‘Nova’ written in black permanent marker on the door, building and generator sides of the wastewater shed.” The caller said “the writing began approximately a week ago and has slowly increased.”
- A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “was given a driver’s license that was found” on a gravel road. The item was “logged into evidence.”
- A caller “reported damage done to her car.” The caller said she “thinks she knows who did it.” An officer responded and determined “the damage on the top part of the vehicle to be of a natural cause.”
- Alan Randolph Heywood, 33, 2305 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on a Perry warrant for fifth-degree theft.
- A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
- A caller reported “a small child walking by herself” along the street. The caller “said the child is climbing on a car trailer.” An officer responded but did not find the child.
- A caller reported “a cat that’s been hit by a car.” An officer responded and found the “cat was deceased.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
- A caller reported “a child still at the bus stop,” and “no one has picked him up.” Officers responded and made contact with the child, who said he was waiting for his father to get off work. The “dad arrived shortly after and picked him up.”
- An officer of the Perry Police Department conducted traffic control for a stalled tractor.
- A caller from a local retail store reported “a juvenile who drove to the store” but “is not old enough to drive.” An officer responded.
Sept. 1, 2017
- Nicholas James Nizzi, 39, was issued a citation for urinating in public in violation of the city code of ordinances.
- A caller said his son “was assaulted by individuals who mistook his chew for a possible knife.” The caller said his son was “repeating himself and might have a concussion.” An officer responded and met with the father and son at the Dallas County Hospital. The incident is under investigation.
