  • A caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department could speak with employees of a local business who were “driving their Gators and four-wheelers across the highway, which is tearing up the median.” An officer responded.
  • A caller asked “about the process of serving a no-trespassing notice on a subject they have been having problems with at a business.” An officer responded.
  • A caller at a Perry school said “vehicles are driving by at approximately 40 mph,” and the caller was “concerned for young children.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offcies of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said someone “had painted her house, and she wrote him a check for his work.” The woman said the painter told her “that the check did not work and asked her to give him another check,” and so “she wrote another check.” The woman said “she went to the bank to find out what was wrong with the check, and they advised her both checks were cashed.” The woman said she contacted the painter, “and he wrote her a check to refund the money, but it was a bad check.” An officer responded and “will be calling the Dallas County Attorney’s office tomorrow to figure out how to handle the situation.”
  • A caller said she “received a call from her granddaughter,” who “said her uncle is out of control and causing problems.” The Marion County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  • A caller said his dog was lost. The caller called again and said his dog was found.
  • Taylor Ann Halsey, 28, 947 36th St., Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
