The $300,000 renovation project at Perry Public Library — including bathroom upgrades and a new east entrance — will begin Monday, July 27, and the library will remain closed to the public through October.
The scheduled construction also includes a new circulation desk, a family-style restroom, new flooring throughout the library and a new water fountain with touch-free bottle-filling station.
The library staff will work during the construction project from the Carnegie Library Museum at 1123 Willis Ave., where services will continue and the staff will have daily access to library materials during construction breaks. No disruption of service is expected during the project.
Return bins will be relocate to the east side of the Carnegie Library Museum during library hours, and curbside services will also continue from that location. Appointments will be taken for 45-minute computer sessions at the Carnegie Library Museum, but the building will remain closed to the general public.
