
CARROLL — A 3-0 sweep over Perry in Raccoon River Conference play Tuesday lifted Carroll to 9-18 overall and 1-4 in league play. The Jayettes were dropped to 3-17, 0-5 with the setback, which came on scores of 25-21, 25-12 and 25-16.
Senior Jo Diw recorded her 500th career kill in the loss after leading the team with 14 kills. Isabel Saemisch added four kills and Sid Vancil two, with Kacy Nevitt adding one. Vancil passed out 16 assists, Diw three and Nevitt one.
Syd Guerra’s 15 digs led Perry, with Vancil and Adriana Eastman each making five digs. Diw finished with four digs, with Mackenzie Ayers, Magley Orellana and Saemisch having one dig apiece while Gabby West had a solo block.
Ayers served 6-of-6 and Nevitt 5-of-5 with each recording a single ace, the only ace serves of the match for the visitors. Guerra finished 10-of-11 behind the line, with Vancil 8-of-8, Eastman 7-of-8, Saemisch 5-of-6 and Diw 5-of-7.
Paige Caltrider was 17-17-1 for the Tigers, with Maddie Rotert 13-13-1 while providing 15 assists. Taylor Mohr led the hosts with eight kills, with Gina Mishark adding seven.
Perry will return to action Tuesday with a visit from RRC foe Winterset.
