A Perry woman was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Tuesday in connection with an Aug. 14 incident in a Perry barroom in which she allegedly strangled a man from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Megan Liann Hudnell, 30, of 2104 Third St., Perry, was charged with assault.

According to court records, officers of the Perry Police Department reviewed video footage from the tavern in the 1000 block of Second Street. The video showed Hudnell allegedly “placing her left arm around the victim’s neck and grabbing her right bicep” and keeping the victim in a “choke hold” for two minutes.

The victim told the officers “that he did not lose consciousness at any time during the hold,” and no marks were visible on the victim’s neck, according to court records.

A warrant for Hudnell’s arrest was ordered Aug. 29 in Dallas County District Court. Hudnell was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to her release on her own recognizance. She is scheduled for a pretrial conference Oct. 12 in Dallas County District Court.
