A Perry woman was arrested Saturday after she allegedly assaulted another Perry woman by striking her and running her over.
Naomi Hernandez Trujillo, 21, of 2907 Warford St., Perry, was charged with assault causing bodily injury.
The incident began about 2:15 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 1300 block of Second Street in Perry, where officers of the Perry Police Department tried to serve an arrest warrant to Montes Mendez.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Hernandez Trujillo allegedly “struck her in the right cheek and then proceeded to run her over with a vehicle,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “a swollen and bruised right cheek,” and she was “actively bleeding” from “scratches on both knees” and “scratch marks on her right arm,” according to court records.
A witness to the incident stated that Hernandez Trujillo did not run over the victim but rather the victim “held onto the vehicle while” Hernandez Trujillo “tried to drive away,” according to court records.
The investigation is ongoing, according to court records.
Hernandez Trujillo is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
