A Perry woman was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly tried to stab a Perry man in the home.

Lina Elva, 28, of 1212 1/2 Second St., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-display or use weapon.

The incident began about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Dallas County Hospital, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a staff report of an assault.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that during the course of a domestic dispute, Elva allegedly “came at him with kitchen knife” and “was trying to stab him in the chest but he blocked it with his left arm and was cut,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “a deep cut approximately an inch long on the inside of his left arm just above his wrist,” according to court records.

Elva was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 28 in Dallas County District Court.
