A Perry woman got a big surprise Wednesday evening when she pulled a 5-pound catfish out of the retention pond in the 2900 block of Iowa Street.
Sara White said she was bored and so decided to wet her line, using a small Walmart pole with a worm on a hook for bait.
White said she is used to the pond yielding small fry, which she always throws back.
