The Perry High School and the Perry Fareway grocery store have partnered to recognize PHS Students of the Month, with each month’s selected students from each grade receiving a certificate and a gift card from Fareway.

This month’s certificates and gift cards were presented by Fareway Manager Travis Landgrebe, who is also a first-term director on the Perry Community School District Board of Directors.

PHS Students of the Month for September were freshman Lily Hollingsworth, sophomore Seth Borgeson, junior Quin Mahler-Mereno and senior Riley Sergent. The student winners were described in the following ways:

“PHS freshman Lily Hollingsworth has done a fabulous job with the student council. She takes initiative, asks questions and has an excellent work ethic. She has been a great leader in the student council already this year. She even created a freshman Instagram page to communicate with her classmates about positive things going on at Perry. I love seeing her smile each day.”

“PHS sophomore Seth Borgeson is off to an excellent start to his sophomore year. He is a great participant in his classes and always brings inquisitive questions to all classroom discussions.”

“PHS junior Quin Mahler-Moreno is a fantastic example of a student leader. She is attentive in class, willing to help her peers, always does schoolwork with fidelity and is a student athlete.”

“PHS senior Riley Sergent is highly involved and always incredibly positive. He genuinely cares about the work he is doing and is willing to be coached in academics and extracurriculars.”
