Panorama will look to get back on track Friday when they travel to Ogden. The Panthers fell, 35-6, at No. 5 Madrid last Friday.

LAST MEETING — The two teams met, in Panora, in the first round of the 2015 playoffs and the game was a classic, featuring big plays on both sides and plenty of excitement down the stretch, with Panorama escaping, 21-20. Austin Lentz ran for 240 yards for Ogden while Panorama ran for 263, but almost all the yardage generated by both teams has since graduated.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS — Panorama started off 2-0 with a 31-14 win at Des Moines Christian and a 48-6 win over visiting Woodward Academy before being thumped, 35-6, at No. 5 Madrid last week. The Panthers have thrown for 181 yards and rushed for another 646 on 114 carries, with the defense having made six interceptions and recovered four fumbles so far.

Freshman quarterback Luke South is only 7-of-26 through the air for 179 yards and has been intercepted three times, but three of his passes have gone for touchdowns. Garrett Simmons and Tanner Godfrey each have one non-scoring and one TD reception for a total of 47 and 38 yards, respectively, with Blaine Barber’s one snare going for 70 yards and six points.

Brody Rickheim has run 37 times for a team-best 221 yards and has three TDs, with Gunnar Grunsted (10-90, 2 TDs) and South (31-63) the most common carriers.

Trey Cobb leads the defense with 18 tackles, with Grunsted adding 17.5 stops while Daniel Jensen has six sacks.

The return of All-State defensive back Levi Leiferman to the lineup for his second game of the season should elevate the effectiveness of the Panthers on both sides of the ball.

ABOUT THE BULLDOGS — Ogden was a 33-14 winner at Woodward Academy in week one, but has since by walloped by West Marshall (48-6) and host and seventh-ranked Van Meter (54-0). The team has 229 passing yards and 450 yards on the ground.

Jake Thompson is 23-of-43 from 174 yards in the air and Sam Christensen 6-of-16 for 55 yards and a score. Both have been intercepted three times.

Nathan McCutchen has 11 receptions for 81 yards and Cole Gunderson seven grabs for 82 yards to lead Ogden’s receivers.

Aaron McCutheon (38-218, 2 TDs) and McCutchen (10-183, 1 TD) pace the rushing attack.

Lucas Elsner has 17.5 tackles and Jaden Bell 15.5 to lead a defense that has recovered two fumbles but is yet to make an interception.
