
The Perry softball team had one player earn All-Raccoon River Conference first team honors, another player earn second team plaudits and two others have their names placed on the honorable mention tab.
Perry was 3-16 overall for veteran head coach Tina Lutterman and 0-7 in league play. The Jayettes repeatedly faced ranked opponents while playing with only one senior who had more than one season of varsity experience.
Sophomore pitcher Jayna Kenney was chosen for the first team All-RRC. She threw 96-2/3 innings, allowing 141 runs (only 88 of which were earned) for an ERA of 6.34. Kenney struck out 39, walked 29 and hit five batters, with the opposition hitting .319.
Kenney led the team with a .346 batting average. She had 14 singles and four double, drove in eight runs and scored five times.
Freshman Lydia Olejncizak was picked for the second team after tying Kenney for the team tops in hits with 18. She had 14 singles, a double, two triples and one home run. The shortstop finished with 12 runs scored, six RBIs and was hit by four pitches. She was successful on all 13 of her stolen base attempts.
Sophomore third baseman Macy Killmer was named honorable mention. She hit .326 with 15 singles, driving in three runs and scoring eight times. Killmer was 4-of-4 stealing bases.
Left fielder Kennedy Tunink provided solid defense all season, sporting a fielding percentage of .966 after committing just one error in 29 chances. She had two assists while batting .211 with nine singles, three double, four RBIs and five runs scored.
