A Redfield man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting his roommate while enraged.
Sheldon Brittain, 23, of 822 Bridge St., Redfield, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Bridge Street, where Brittain allegedly “broke out a car window, broke a camera and threw a phone at the house door” before “trying to fight” the victim and “attempted to punch him twice and did not make contact,” according to court records.
The victim told the Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs who responded that he “did take” Brittain “to the ground to stop him from swinging” and ended up sustaining “injuries to his knuckles,” according to court records.
Brittain is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 8 in Dallas County District Court.
