Results released for W-G girls from Thursday meet

OGDEN — The Woodward-Granger girls track team was one of eight in competition at Ogden Thursday, with the Hawks finishing in a tie with Martensdale-St. Marys for sixth place with 35 points.

Gilbert won the meet with 138 points, with Humboldt second at 124 while Madrid finished third with 104 team points.

W-G did not score in any field events and placed only two times in individual track events. The Hawks scored in five of seven relays.

Emma Drake led the way in the solo races by finishing second in the 800 in 2 minutes, 37.26 seconds, with Chloe David finishing sixth in the 400 low hurdles in 1:22.85.

Drake led off the winning 4×800 team that included Kaitlyn Peters, Anna Tague and Ava Petersen. The foursome continue to shave seconds off their clockings and won Thursday in 10:39.18.

Anna Tague, Drake, Petersen and Kayley Dresback were third in the 4×400 in 4:34.04, with Gena Tague, Josie Noland, Natalie Helbling and Katelyn Bandstra finishing third in the distance medley in 5:03.26.

The 4×200 quartet of Anna Tague, Gena Tague, Alissa Smeltzer and Mae Anderson placed fifth, in 2:03.03, with the shuttle hurdle squad of Mollie Frost, Chloe David, Sophie David and Anderson finishing sixth in 1:25.71.
