The Perry Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting event Thursday afternoon at Salvaged Soul, Perry’s newest source for new, gently used, vintage home decor and one of a kind hand-painted furniture.
Pat Snyder of rural Perry, owner of Salvaged Soul, welcomed about more than 40 guests to the cozy retail space at 1114 Second St. Snyder and her husband, Joe Snyder, have transformed the building since April, when it was purchased by local developer Sandy Grubbs of rural Woodward.
Before cutting the ribbon, Pat Snyder gave a heartfelt speech, thanking a number of friends who helped her realize her dream with Salvaged Soul, such as Grubbs, Cheri Tice Scheib and the ladies of La Poste, who “welcomed her back to the fold,” she said.
Snyder also thanked a number of local contractors, such as Luellen Electric, Hulgan Plumbing, Matt Lovett of Woodward and Alice’s Haus Dressin as well as Michaelson Storage in Perry.
Among the striking features of the remodeled 135-year-old building, once the home of Robinson Clothing, is the dropped ceiling made from knotty pine salvaged from the old Walt’s Sporting Goods store next door.
