A rural Adel man was arrested early Tuesday after allegedly assaulting his wife in their home.
Dustin Paul Deitrick, 41, of 33762 Rustlin Lane, Adel, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault and child endangerment-no injury.
The incident began about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 33700 block of Rustlin Lane in rural Adel, where Deitrick allegedly “did push and headbutt his cohabitating wife,” according to court records.
The alleged assault caused the victim “pain, ‘pressure’ in her nose, a red mark to the right side of her neck and a red mark/bruising to her left breast,” according to court records.
The incident “occurred in the presence of their mutual child,” who called 911, and Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded.
Deitrick is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
Deitrick was convicted of domestic abuse assault with intent or displays a weapon and assault on peace officers and others in 2001 in Polk County District Court.
