Sandra “Sandy” Free, 82, of Perry passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Perry Lutheran Homes Kings Garden Campus in Perry, Iowa.
Visitation with her family will be Friday, April 15 from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry.
Sandra “Sandy” Roylene Free was born April 29, 1939, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Roy Elmer and Mildred (Schuemaker) Keasey.
She graduated from Exira High School.
Sandy was united in marriage to Francis Asbury Free in the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira on Oct. 31, 1970.
She provided in-home day care in Perry until her retirement.
Sandy was involved with the Foster Grandparents Program with the United Way of Iowa and was a Foster Grandparent at St. Patrick’s School in Perry.
She enjoyed going camping and crocheting.
In death she rejoins her parents, Roy and Mildred Keasey; sisters, Ardith Madsen-Lauridsen, Mary Lou Walker-Govig and Nancy Fusselman; and her brothers, Richard Keasey, Danny Keasey and Daryle Keasey.
Left to cherish Sandy’s memory are her husband, Francis Free; children, Todd Free of Perry and Tonya (Aaron) Summerson of Perry; and her grandchildren, Timothy Free of Perry, Kitana Summerson of Des Moines, Trinity Summerson of Des Moines and Kaiden Summerson of Perry.
