“Look at ourselves, ladies and gentlemen! Then at the wall; and ask how’s this wall, the great wall, which we call, perhaps miscall, civilization, to be built by (here the mirrors flicked and flashed) orts, scraps and fragments like ourselves?” —Virginia Woolf, “Between the Acts”
The Friends of the Perry Public Library held a scrapbook fundraiser Saturday in the community room of the Perry Public Library.
The marathon event ran from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and attracted 11 participants, according to Librarian Misty Stout Von Behren.
“We raised more than $300,” Stout Von Behren said, “and had a lot of fun doing it.”
Proceeds from the creative craft event help support the Perry Public Library’s programming.
The registration fee included an 8-foot table space and electrical outlet, plus lunch, supper, dessert, snacks and beverages.
