Jordan Marie Swanson, 26, of Waukee was arrested Sunday on a charge of child endangerment-serious injury.

A Waukee woman was arrested Sunday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with a June incident in which she allegedly broke a child’s leg but did not seek medical attention.

Jordan Marie Swanson, 26, of 395 Fourth St., Waukee, was charged with child endangerment-serious injury.

A doctor at Blank Children’s Hospital examined the victim on June 5 for potential child abuse and reported his findings to the Waukee Police Department. The doctor concluded that “several injuries, new and old,” had “the appearance of intentionality,” according to court records.

In particular, the victim’s broken leg appeared to be “non-accidental in nature,” according to court records, and the fracture was described by the doctor as “a serious injury to a child caused by a parent or guardian.”

The injury “was believed to have happened without documentation,” according to court records.

A warrant for Swanson’s arrest was ordered Aug. 7 in Dallas County District Court and served Aug. 11. Swanson was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 21 in Dallas County District Court.

Hunter Mark Austin Gonzalez, 27, who also resides at 395 Fourth St., Waukee, was arrested Saturday on the same charge of child endangerment-serious injury.
