PANORA — The Panorama girls will enter the holiday break 9-0 overall and 6-0 in West Central Conference play thanks to a 57-26 thumping of visiting Woodward-Granger Tuesday.

W-G (3-7, 1-5) found themselves in an 18-6 hole after one period of play. The Hawks played a stronger second quarter and entered the half facing a 29-16 deficit, but a 16-3 explosion over the third period moved the Panthers into a 45-19 lead and ended any doubt as to the eventual outcome.

Devyn Kemble splashed four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 19 points for the hosts, with Morgan Johnk adding 12 points. Faith Powell had eight points and Bailey Beckman seven, with four points from Hope Wilderman, three from Olivia Richey (on a 3-pointer) and two each from Kellie Prince and Maddie Knapp accounted for the Panorama scoring.

Mary Hansen led W-G with nine points, with Kayley Dresback adding five points and Alyssa Bice four. Kendra Husmann had three points, Riley Jamison and Lisa Pitman two apiece and Maggi Mallon a free throw to wrap the Hawk scoring.

W-G emerged on the short end of a 37-35 game with visiting Madrid Friday. The Hawks led, 16-13, after one frame, with both teams combining for only six points in the second period, which ended with W-G holding a 20-15 edge.

The Hawks led, 26-25, after three periods but the Tigers rallied to steal the win. No statistical information has been made available from the game.

Both teams will resume play Jan. 3. Panorama hosts Ogden, with W-G entertaining Earlham.
