Workers with the Perry Public Works Department are clearing snow from Perry streets Sunday morning after an overnight snowfall of about six inches.

Snow is general all over Iowa, and a winter storm warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday. The moderate to heavy snow will taper off to lighter snow through much of Sunday. Winds will be relatively light, and primary impacts will be snow-covered and slick roads.

The National Weather Service in Des Moines warns motorists that travel could be very hazardous or impossible Sunday, with visibility reduced to less than one mile at times. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
