The snow ordinance is in effect on Perry’s roadways Thursday, and the fast-falling snow has caused the closure of many offices and cancellation of activities.

“The snow is falling again,” Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn said Thursday. “Please remove all vehicles from the roadway. Officers will be out enforcing the ordinance today and tonight. The snow ordinance will remain in effect until the snow stops and the streets are fully open. It is projected that the ordinance enforcement will end Friday afternoon, at which time you will be able to park on the streets again.”

Classes in the Perry Community School District and at St. Patrick Catholic School are canceled for Thursday. Parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Thursday night will be postponed until Thursday, Feb. 23.

The McCreary Community Building, the Perry Public Library and Hometown Heritage at the
Carnegie Library Museum all closed at 2 p.m. Thursday. Members of the McCreary Community Building age 18 and up can still use the 24-hour fitness room.

For more information, call the Perry City Hall at 515-465-2481.

The Perry Food Pantry is also closed Thursday.
