WOODWARD — Collins-Maxwell used a strong fourth quarter to pull away from host Woodward-Granger for a 41-28 non-conference win in the girls basketball opener for both teams Friday.

W-G trailed, 20-17, at the break but took a second half lead before C-M rallied to claim the win. The Spartans finished with a decided edge at the foul line, sinking 13-of-26 while the Hawks attempted only six free throws, making three.

Freshman Emma Anderson played well in her first varsity start, leading W-G with 13 points. Katleyn Scharlau had five points and Mae Anderson four points, with Quinn Kaufman, Kayley Dresback and Lisa Pitman providing two points apiece.

Mikayla Houge had a game-high 19 points for C-M, with Emma Kahler adding 10 points. Gracie Cheville tallied six points, Reagan Franzen four and Alexis Houge two.

W-G is off until Nov. 29, when they host Martensdale-St. Marys in a boys/girls set, with both W-G teams visiting Panorama Nov. 30 for their WCAC opener.
