A one-mile stretch of the Linden Road will be closed for one week starting Wednesday while the Dallas County Conservation Department paves a Raccoon River Valley Trail crossing.

The Linden Road from Beaumont Avenue to Cadet Court will close at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 and reopen Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m., according to the Dallas County Secondary Roads Department.

Eight Raccoon River Valley Trail crossings remain to be paved in Dallas County, and the conservation board has taken multiple bids on the work, both for asphalt and concrete paving, in an effort to complete the project.

A second crossing will be completed later this fall where the trail crosses 290th Street near of County Road P58, about two miles west of Adel. The timing of the second closure has not been announced.
